A Korean war soldier who was MIA is returned home to his family.

No matter how many times I make the trek to bury remains at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery the crack of the rifle volleys, the notes of Taps and the precision of military honors still gets to me every single time.

It seems only fitting that the weather was cold and rainy yesterday as this soldier came home to rest with other soldiers in a Field of Honor.

There will be no movie made about this soldiers death, no big debate on wether he was a patriot, no movie stars making quotes about this. Just a soldier who was never forgotten and finally can come home.

This is the soldier and the many others we do not hear about and we as a nation should be Grateful for their service.

“I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.” -ABRHAM LINCOLN
